Terms of use
The agreement between you and PD Tracker. Plain language, and short, because there isn't much to it.
Last updated: 24 August 2026
PD Tracker is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. It is a diary for recording what you observe. It does not diagnose, treat, monitor, or make recommendations about any condition, and it must never be used to decide whether to take, skip, delay, or change a dose. Those decisions belong to you and your prescribing doctor.
The short version. This is a free tool, offered as-is, by one person. Your data lives on your device and keeping a backup is up to you. Follow your care team, not the app. If it stops working or loses your entries, I'm sorry, but I can't be held liable.
1. Who this agreement is with
PD Tracker is an independent project operated by Byte Communications. In these terms, "the app" or "PD Tracker" means the website at pd-tracker.com and the tracker it provides, and "I" or "me" means Byte Communications.
By using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use it.
PD Tracker is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any hospital, medical practice, pharmaceutical company, device manufacturer, or patient organisation.
2. Not medical advice, and not a medical device
PD Tracker records what you choose to enter and displays it back to you. That is all it does. It does not interpret your symptoms, evaluate your medication schedule, detect patterns on your behalf, or suggest a dose, a timing, or a course of action.
It has not been reviewed or cleared by the FDA, the MHRA, or any other regulator, and it is not certified, validated, or approved for clinical use. Some Parkinson's apps measure symptoms using sensors and hold regulatory clearance for doing so. PD Tracker does not: everything in it is self-reported by you, and its accuracy is only ever as good as what you typed.
Nothing in the app, including the printable report, is a clinical record or a substitute for professional judgement. Always consult your neurologist, doctor, pharmacist, or other qualified professional about your symptoms and medications, and never disregard or delay seeking their advice because of something you saw here.
If you think you are having a medical emergency, contact your local emergency number immediately. Do not use this app.
3. Your data is on your device, and backups are your responsibility
As explained in the privacy policy, everything you log stays in your browser's storage on your own device. There is no server, no account, and no copy held anywhere else.
This has an important consequence: I cannot recover your data if it is lost. It can be erased by clearing your browser's cookies or site data, by a browser's privacy or auto-clear features, by using a private browsing window, by uninstalling or resetting the browser, by device failure, or by the browser reclaiming storage. None of these are things I control or can see.
Keeping backups is therefore yours to do. Settings → Export My Data saves everything to a file. If your entries matter to you, export regularly and keep the file somewhere safe.
You are also responsible for the accuracy of what you enter, and for the security of the device and browser you use — including who else can open it, since anyone with access to that browser can see the tracker without a password.
4. Acceptable use
The app is provided for personal use by people managing their own Parkinson's care or helping a family member or patient with theirs. You agree not to:
- Use it in a way that breaks any applicable law
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the site or its hosting
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its infrastructure
- Use the contact form to send unlawful, abusive, or deliberately misleading content
- Represent the app as a clinical, diagnostic, or regulated tool, or as endorsed by any medical body
You must be 18 or older to agree to these terms. Someone younger may use the app under the supervision of a parent or guardian who accepts them on their behalf.
5. Availability and changes
The app is offered as-is and as-available. I may change, suspend, or discontinue it, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice. I may also change these terms; the date at the top of this page will change with them, and material changes will be noted on the site.
Because your data is stored on your own device rather than by me, the app continuing to work does not depend on the site staying online — but future updates, fixes, and the site itself may not remain available indefinitely. Export a backup if you want your records to outlast the project.
6. No warranty
PD Tracker is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
I do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or free of data loss, or that any defect will be corrected. No advice or information obtained through the app creates any warranty not expressly stated here.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, loss of records, or loss arising from reliance on information displayed by the app — including any decision made about medication, treatment, or care.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, my total liability arising out of or relating to the app will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim, or ten US dollars.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so parts of the two sections above may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.
8. Payment
Not currently in effect
PD Tracker is free to use at the time of writing, and no payment is taken anywhere on this site. If a paid option is introduced later, the terms covering price, what the payment entitles you to, refunds, and cancellation will be published here before any charge is made, and the date at the top of this page will change.
Nothing on this site currently asks for or accepts payment card details. If you ever encounter a page on pd-tracker.com requesting payment while this section still says it is not in effect, do not enter anything and please tell me.
9. Intellectual property
The design, text, code, and graphics of PD Tracker belong to Byte Communications, except for third-party components used under their own licences — including the Lora and Nunito typefaces, which are used under the SIL Open Font License.
What you enter into the tracker is yours. I claim no rights over it, and since it never reaches me, I could not use it even if I wanted to.
You may use the app freely for its intended purpose. You may not copy the site to pass it off as your own, or resell it.
10. Third-party services
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for anonymous page counts. The contact form is delivered by Formspree. These providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and I am not responsible for their services. Details are in the privacy policy.
Any links to other websites are provided for convenience. I do not endorse them or take responsibility for their content.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your local law, and nothing here deprives you of the right to bring proceedings where your local law allows.
12. General
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in force. My not enforcing a provision on one occasion is not a waiver of it. These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the entire agreement between us about the app.
Questions about these terms can go through the contact form.
